Best MW4 Guns After Beta: Meta Weapons Ranked

The Modern Warfare 4 Beta has already given players a good idea of which weapons are worth using. After testing different guns across the available maps and modes, a few weapons have clearly separated themselves from the rest. The current meta is built around fast TTK, manageable recoil, reliable range, and enough mobility to keep up with MW4’s faster gunfights.

This ranking focuses on how the weapons perform in actual matches rather than simply looking at their damage numbers.

  1. Han 86 – Best Overall AR

The Han 86 is the easiest weapon to recommend after the Beta. It has the kind of balance that makes it useful in almost every situation.

Its damage is strong enough to compete at medium range, while the recoil remains manageable when using a sensible attachment setup. The mobility is also good enough for aggressive players who do not want to sit back and hold one angle.

The biggest advantage is consistency. Even after balance adjustments to its damage range and headshot performance, the Han 86 remains a dependable choice for players who want one weapon that can handle most gunfights.

For CoD MW4 Bot Lobbies, it is also a practical weapon to learn because its recoil pattern is predictable and its effective range covers most common engagements.

  1. X-58 Nyx – Best SMG

The X-58 Nyx is one of the strongest choices for close-range players.

It has excellent handling, low recoil, and a fast enough TTK to punish opponents who allow you to get inside its effective range. The integrated suppressor also makes it feel different from traditional SMGs.

The main weakness is obvious: range.

Once fights move into longer sightlines, the X-58 loses some of its advantage. On smaller maps or when constantly pushing objectives, however, it can be extremely difficult to stop.

  1. M4 – Most Reliable All-Rounder

The M4 may not have the highest ceiling in the current meta, but it remains one of the easiest guns to use.

Its recoil is straightforward, its handling is familiar, and it performs well across different ranges. That makes it especially useful for players who are still learning MW4’s gunplay.

The M4 has also received balance changes during the Beta, so its original headshot damage advantage is no longer as significant. Even so, its overall consistency keeps it near the top of the list.

  1. PPSh-41 – Best Aggressive SMG

If you prefer constant movement and close-range fights, the PPSh-41 deserves a place in your loadout rotation.

Its high fire rate gives it excellent close-range pressure, and the large magazine helps when fighting multiple enemies around objectives.

The tradeoff is accuracy at longer distances. Trying to use the PPSh-41 like an assault rifle usually results in losing fights that should have been avoided.

Use it aggressively, stay mobile, and force enemies into close-range engagements.

  1. Kastov 762 – High-Damage Alternative

The Kastov 762 is a more specialized choice. Its damage potential makes it attractive for players who prefer hitting harder with each shot.

The downside is that it requires better recoil control than the Han 86. Missed shots can quickly erase its TTK advantage, especially against players using faster-firing weapons.

For experienced players who can control the weapon consistently, however, it can be a strong alternative.

TTK vs. Recoil vs. Range

Choosing the best MW4 gun isn’t simply about finding the weapon with the fastest theoretical TTK.

A weapon with excellent damage can still perform poorly if its recoil makes follow-up shots difficult. Likewise, a low-recoil weapon may lose fights if its damage falls off too quickly.

The best weapons currently provide a balance between TTK, recoil, range, and mobility.

For medium-range fights, the Han 86 has the best overall balance. For close-range engagements, the X-58 Nyx and PPSh-41 are stronger choices. Players who want more raw damage can experiment with the Kastov 762.

Best Guns by Playstyle

Aggressive players: X-58 Nyx or PPSh-41

Balanced players: Han 86 or M4

High-damage players: Kastov 762

Longer-range players: Han 86 with range-focused attachments

The important thing is to build the weapon around its strengths instead of trying to eliminate every weakness.

Will the Meta Change?

Almost certainly. The Beta is designed to collect player feedback and gameplay data, and weapon balance can change before the full release.

That means this ranking should be treated as a snapshot of the current Beta rather than a permanent MW4 tier list. New weapons, attachments, balance changes, and map rotations can all affect which guns become popular.

If you’re considering buy CoD MW4 Bot Lobbies, don’t let that determine your weapon choice. Understanding recoil, range, movement, and TTK is still what makes a loadout effective.

For the current Beta, my picks are:

S-Tier: Han 86, X-58 Nyx
A-Tier: M4, PPSh-41, Kastov 762

The Han 86 is the best overall weapon for most players, while the X-58 Nyx is the standout choice for aggressive close-range gameplay. As the Beta continues and more balance changes arrive, these rankings could shift, but these weapons are the safest starting points right now.
